Wyatt Smith was born on April 12th, 2006 in Hood River, Oregon to parents Jason Moore and Amy Foster. Wyatt was only 14 years old when he sadly passed away. He was also an active member of 4-H, where he showed goats, sheep, hogs and chickens of which he also sold at auction.
This scholarship was developed to honor Wyatt and help other kids get started with a livestock market project. This scholarship is awarded to a 4-H or FFA member that will be exhibiting their first market animal in a species the member has not previously sold at the Hood River County Fair. The intent of this scholarship is to help fund the first market project for a 4-H or FFA member. From there, the goal is that the youth member earns enough funds from the sale of their first project to fund a future project. Applications will be reviewed by the Auction Committee and awards announced after the December and February Auction Committee meetings. The number of awards presented will be based on funds available.
